Biography

I'm Terry Norris and I live and work in West London. I trained as a designer and I have a degree in Knitwear Design. For over twenty years I worked in the fashion industry designing collections for many famous High Street names.

Ever since I can remember I've baked and decorated cakes. Over the years I've designed and made numerous cakes for friends and then for friends of friends. In 2001 I realised the 'cake making' business was growing and coupled with my enthusiasm for it I resigned from the rag trade - Cake Modern was born.

I sketch and research each cake design until I am satisfied that in theme, colour and shape it answers a client's brief. Only then do I proceed with baking the cake/s before the final decoration. Quite often I am recreating along the way. Most cakes take at least 10 hours from start to finish.

My combined baking skills and artistry ensure that a 'Cake Modern' cake is a work of art but I pride myself upon it being delicious too.
